Ukraine approves KRAMPUS flamethrower robot to strengthen military operations (X @DefenceU)
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has approved the use of the KRAMPUS robotic system by the Armed Forces.
Developed domestically, the equipment is a mobile flamethrower designed for offensive and defensive operations. Compact and lightweight, it can be easily transported by standard vehicles and operates via remote control, even in environments with electronic interference.
The system features two silent electric motors and a tracked chassis, allowing it to navigate difficult terrains such as forests, sand, mud, and steep slopes.
The platform works in all weather conditions and has several hours of autonomy, even in standby mode. It is equipped with surveillance cameras and a combat module using the Ukrainian RPV-16 flamethrower. This weapon disperses a cloud of flammable aerosol that transforms into a fireball when ignited, reaching temperatures up to 2,500 °C and generating a powerful shockwave.
The RPV-16 is comparable to a 122 mm artillery shell, with fragmentation capability for greater lethality. Its effective range is 600 meters, reaching up to 1 km. The flamethrower weighs 11 kg, with a launch tube measuring 900 mm in length and 93 mm in internal diameter.
KRAMPUS represents a new technological capability for the Ukrainian forces on the battlefield.
